The City of Covington is investing more than $100 million for master planning, site acquisition, demolition, environmental remediation, design, engineering and construction of public infrastructure for this 23-acre site bordered by the Ohio River to the north, 4th Street from the south. Home originally to a sprawling single story federal IRS building, we have been blessed to partner with the City of Covington to reintroduce the original street grid that will allow for this land to be developed into a new central core for downtown Covington. Our work included importing 100,000cy of structural fill to raise the new 3rd street even with the top of the floodwall that will provide panoramic views of the Ohio River and neighboring downtown Cincinnati. We also laid more than 11,000lf of underground utilities, installed asphalt and concrete pavement for the new streets, and built a pocket park with pavers, plantings, lawn, and other various amenities.
